Kassinger Development Group is a privately owned real estate development company formed in 2004 and based in Charleston, South Carolina & Asheville, North Carolina. The company develops and owns upscale, environmentally friendly, energy efficient multi-family communities within the Southeastern United States.

Edward T. "Chip" Kassinger, Jr., began his career in 1979 as president and principle of E.T.Kassinger, Inc., a luxury homebuilder/developer specializing in the design, renovation and construction of homes ranging from 3,500 to 20,000 square feet in Georgia and South Carolina. In 1996, Chip became a Development Manager and Vice President of Merry Land Investment Co., and its successor, Merry Land Properties, Inc., based in Augusta, GA . They acquired or developed and operated 135 communities with 35,000 apartment units through out the Southeast and Texas. It was the largest owner and operator of upscale apartments in the Southeast prior to being acquired by Equity Residential in 1998. Between 1996 and 2003, Chip and Merry Land Investment Co. completed over 5,000 multi-family units with a project cost in excess of five- hundred million across the Southeast and Texas. Chip Kassinger founded the Kassinger Development Group in 2004 as a private real estate group and works with select partners. From 2004 to the present, the Kassinger Development Group has over 4,500 units either completed or under construction with a project cost over three-hundred million. In 2013, Kassinger Development Group formed a larger team to oversee current and future projects.
